Eset Protect offers cloud or on-prem security management

Security vendor Eset has brought its Eset Protect endpoint security management platform to Australia.

Eset Protect can be deployed on premises or from the cloud, and either way is said to provide easy and automated management of Eset's security product portfolio

Eset Protect Cloud provides a cloud-based console for other Eset products, giving real-time visibility of on- and off-premises endpoints.

It allows administrators to deploy Eset security solutions, execute tasks, enforce security policies, monitor system status, and respond to problems or detections on managed endpoints whether they are desktops, servers, virtual machines or mobile devices.

Eset Protect Cloud integrates with security information and event management (SIEM) tools, and provides comprehensive reporting and fully customisable notifications.

The console can be used to mange existing Eset products including Endpoint Security, Dynamic Threat Defense, and Full Disk Encryption.

Current Eset Cloud Administrator customers will be automatically upgraded to Eset Protect Cloud.

Eset has also introduced five subscription packages offering various combinations of Eset Protect modules.

These range from Eset Protect Entry (Management Console plus Endpoint Protection; from $668.80 a year for 10 devices) and Email Protect Mail Plus (Management Console, Mail Security and Cloud Sandbox) to Eset Protect Complete (Management Console, Endpoint Protection, Cloud Sandbox, Full Disk Encryption, Cloud Application Protection and Mail Security).

Despite its name, Eset Protect Complete does not include the Endpoint Detection and Response module, which only appears as part of the Enterprise subscription tier. But in turn, that omits the Cloud Application Protection and Mail Security modules.

All business subscribers can choose between on-premises endpoint management (Eset Protect; formerly Eset Security Management Center) or cloud-based endpoint management (Eset Protect Cloud).

"With Eset Protect Cloud we are offering businesses looking to implement a 'cloud-first' strategy a robust security solution no matter what size they are," said Eset Australia country manager Kelly Johnson.

"Eset Protect Cloud combines our deep knowledge of the shifting cybersecurity landscape with feedback from customers about how their businesses are changing in the era of digital transformation. A cloud-first strategy offers many advantages for businesses but comes with fresh security concerns.

"With Eset Protect Cloud, we're letting businesses know that we've got their back, with cutting-edge, tailored solutions to keep their employees and data safe and secure."
