Nearing completion, new signage for Memorial Stadium can be seen on the Beaumont Independent School District's football stadium. The signage came after a three-year long debate to change the name from the Carrol A. "Butch" Thomas Educational Support Center. The name, Memorial Stadium, was chosen to reflect several schools in the district's history.

The Enterprise Reader Poll gives you an opportunity to weigh in on the proposal to rename Beaumont ISD's Memorial Stadium, bringing back the name of former longtime superintendent Carrol A. "Butch" Thomas.
The name of Thomas, who led the district from 1996 to 2012, was removed from the facility a year ago.
