Google invests in Indian courier startup Dunzo

Indian courier startup Dunzo has raised USD 40 million in funding from existing investor Google, after seeing a surge in usage during the COVID-19 pandemic, Reuters reports, citing a company statement. The fresh funding "stems from a year of robust growth amidst the pandemic", Dunzo said. The investment round also included Lightbox, Evolvence, Hana Financial, LGT Lightstone Aspada and Alteria. Dunzo users can currently order groceries and other essential items from nearby stores, and run pick-up and drop errands in 8 cities whre the startup operates.
