A hiker had to be rescued after falling down a mountain near a waterfall at the Silvermine Nature Reserve in Cape Town on Sunday afternoon.
At 12:40, Cape Medical Response (CMR) was dispatched following reports of the fall, the company said in a statement.
On arrival, SANParks, Metro Rescue and the City of Cape Town Fire and Rescue service had gone down to the hiker. Due to the narrowness of the path, CMR medics and an ambulance waited at the gate while the other services were able to transport the hiker to them.
The patient was "hiked out" from the bottom of the waterfall to the double-track road. A SANParks bakkie was waiting and took the hiker to CMR at the gate.
CMR medics transported the hiker in a stable condition to a Cape Town hospital.
