Gorewada International zoo in Nagpur renamed after Bal Thackeray

Nagpur,Jan 19 (UNI) The Maharashtra government has renamed Gorewada International Zoo here as 'Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park', Forest minister Sanjay Rathod said on Tuesday.

A government resolution (GR) in this regard has been issued, he said.

The zoological park will come up on nearly 2,000 hectares forest land, Mr Rathod said.

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will inaugurate the Indian safari at the zoo on Jan 26, the minister said.

Three special 40-seat capacity vehicles and an online ticket booking facility will be made available to the people soon after the Indian safari is inaugurated, he added
