HVA cruise to 1st Jalaluddin Memorial Volleyball title

Imphal, January 18 2021: HVA, Heikrujam clinched the title of the 1st Jalaluddin Memorial Volleyball Tournament-2021 organised by Village Development Organisation, Kyamgei Takhok Makha under the aegis of All Manipur Volleyball Association.

The competition organised since January 10 at Kyamgei Takhok Makha was participated by 7 teams.

HVA got the better of SYDC, Santhel by 3-1 sets in the final match of the tournament which was witnessed by Social Welfare Minister O Henry, Deputy Chairman of Planning Lourembam Rameshwor, Pradhan of Chanam Sandrok GP Kangabam Sundar, Prahdan of Kiyamgei GP Koijam Manisana Devi and others as dignitaries to earn the top honour.

The Heigrujam side started the game brightly and pocketed the first two sets before SYDC made a brief fightback to keep their hope alive.

HVA, however, came back stronger in the fourth set and successfully wrap up the game 25-19, 25-16, 25-27, 25-18 .

Winners, HVA walked away Rs 30,000 richer as SYDC had to content with Rs 20,000 .

Third placed KYLSC, Kachikhul and fourth placed YMDO, Heirangoithong were respectively feted with Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 during the valedictory function held today.
