KOLKATA: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's SPJIMR (S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research) has said that the current Dean, Dr Ranjan Banerjee will be stepping down at the end of the current financial year to pursue a fresh challenge.
Deepak Parekh, chairman of the SPJIMR Governing Council said in a statement: "Bhavan's SPJIMR has made significant strides under Dr Banerjee's leadership and we will miss him. The success of the institute is due both to his leadership, and to the strong team of faculty, staff, students and alumni who have supported him at every stage. We will be instituting a global search to find a suitable successor through an executive search firm. I will personally lead the search committee."
Dr Banerjee will be in a transition phase between his current and future assignment, and an interim leadership team comprising Associate Deans - Dr. Vasant Sivaraman, Dr. Renuka Kamath and Dr. Preeta George will be at the helm till a successor is appointed.
"SPJIMR has a strong second line in place, and I am confident we will continue to make new strides forward in the years to come,” said Parekh.
