MBBS aspirant arrested in Chennai for submitting fake NEET score card

CHENNAI: The Chennai police on Monday arrested absconding MBBS aspirant N B Deeksha of Paramakudi who had submitted a fake NEET score card before medical counselling officials on November 30 to get a medical seat.
Her father Dr Balachandran, a dentist in Ramanathapuram district, had already been arrested in the case.
Deeksha was secured from a hotel room in the city where she had been staying with her family members.
She was arrested based on the complainant of additional director of medical education and secretary of selection committee Dr G Selvarajan. She was remanded in judicial custody.
Deeksha scored only 27 marks in NEET-UG 2020 and did not make it to the rank list. However, she applied for counselling with a forged score card as if she scored 610 marks.
Inquiries revealed that Deeksha had forged her score card by replacing the photo and roll number of another candidate named N Krithika, who had actually scored 610 marks.
