Nifty Auto pulls back from record-highs, trades below 10k; Tata Motors halts winning streak, dives 6%

Auto stocks were among top laggards of Monday's trading session tracking weak benchmarks. Investors booked profits as focus shifts to Q3FY21 corporate results. Tata Motors has halted its winning streak of last week and emerged as top underperformer of the sector today.

At around 12.07 pm, Nifty Auto trades at 9,981.40 down 196.90 points or 1.93%. The index has plunged to an intraday low of 9,863.90.

Last week, the index clocked an all-time high of 10,287.45.

On Nifty Auto - Tata Motors is top loser slumping by nearly 6% followed by Ashok Leyland which tumbled by 5%. Tata Motors had touched a new all-time high of Rs264.65 last week.

Stocks like Exide and Bharat Forge plunged by over 3% each. While Balkrishna, Maruti Suzuki, Amara Raja Batteries, Hero MotoCorp, TVS Motor and Motherson Sumi has dipped between 2-3%. Bosch slipped by over 1%.

Meanwhile, M&M, Bajaj Auto and MRF dropped between 0.4-1%.

Eicher Motor was the only gainer on the index surging by near 1%.
