Meghalaya Governor donates over Rs. One lakh for Ram Mandir in Ayodhya

Shillong, Jan 18 (UNI) Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik on Monday donated
Rs. 1,10,000 to the Shillong-based Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra towards
development of the Ram Mandir temple construction in Ayodhya.
The members of the Trust — Anand Thapa, Secretary; Sushanta Das , Joint
Secretary; Pawan Treasurer and Roshni Subba , Joint Treasurer - met Malik at the
Raj Bhavan and apprised him of the developments of the Ram Mandir temple
construction in Ayodhya.
The Meghalaya Governor while wishing well for the construction work also sought
feedback from the members of the trust.

State can make laws subject to rights to reasonable restrictions : HNYF

Shillong, Jan 18 (UNI) The Hynniewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF) on Monday
defended the contentious Meghalaya Resident Safety and Security (MRSSA) bill
and the entry-exit point stating that a “State can make laws to subject these
(Constitutional) rights to reasonable restrictions.”
The pressure group was reacting to a PIL filed before the Meghalaya High Court
by five Advocates challenging the establishment of the entry-exit point at Umling in
Ri-Bhoi district and also the MRSSA.
