EVCD solves charging worries of EV-users

11

To overcome the problem of inadequate charging infrastructure in the country, Energy Bite has come up with an Electric Vehicle Charging Dispenser (EVCD), which allows users to draw power supply safely and conveniently for charging their electric vehicles from the comfort of their homes and offices. By using this revolutionary device, one can also avail the benefits of tracking energy consumption, viewing charge status and doing online payments.

The constant rise in the popularity of electric vehicles (EV) is understandable in a country that is obsessed with fuel economy. It is an established fact that the operating cost of an EV is significantly lower than that of an Internal Combustion (IC) engine-driven vehicle. Besides the lower operational cost, EVs also help in curbing environmental pollution.

The main challenge for mass acceptance of EV, however, is an awfully inadequate charging infrastructure. Range anxiety is another potent reason for many people to refrain from investing in an EV. The Government, on its part, is making persistent efforts to build a robust charging infrastructure with the help of some public-private players. However, given the current uncertainty of charging stations in and around cities, the objective of making India fully electric is still a far-fetched dream.

To solve this critical problem, Energy Bite has introduced its patent-pending smart device, the Electric Vehicle Charging Dispenser (EVCD). The concept allows EV users to draw power supply at the comfort of their homes, housing societies and even offices. EVCD enables EV users to charge their EVs at the parking slots of their homes. Also, real estate developers, RWAs and AOAs can use EVCD with proper energy accounting and convenient billing and payment mechanisms. Energy Bite has introduced the EVCD to extend the ease of prepaid-metering to EV charging as well.

The EVCD is provided with a Class-1 accuracy energy metering system having 10 to 60A current-handling capability so that all types of AC fast chargers can be plugged in. The EVCD has a socket to be connected with the AC chargers which are provided along with the vehicles.

There are two modes

The amount to be charged is subsequently deducted from the consumer’s mobile wallet, in case of prepaid meters. For the post-paid meters, the amount is added to the monthly bill. The EVCD developed by Energy Bite is highly beneficial, not only for a housing society but also for commercial spaces, shopping malls, offices, resorts and hotels.

With EV space growing each day, it has become essential to adopt future-forward technologies to boost the adoption of electric vehicles, thereby, reducing the country’s fuel import bill and helping save the environment. EVCD by Energy Bite is a pioneering technological achievement in this regard.
