Military kickstarts Covid-19 vaccination in Lucknow

LUCKNOW: Central command Lucknow hospital on Monday kicked off Covid-19 vaccination drive.
Leading from the front and setting an example for others, commandant Maj Gen Ramesh Kaushik was the first to get himself inoculated.
Emphasising on the safety and efficacy of the vaccine, commandant said, "All healthcare workers have an additional role to play as ambassadors promoting the largest vaccination drive in the world."
A total of 1,500 Health care workers in Lucknow military station are planned to be vaccinated. On first day, a total of 200 health care workers were vaccinated with no adverse events.
"The vaccination drive will be conducted as per laid down government protocols. Decision on active military and veteran personnel will be taken later," said defence spokesperson Shantanu Pratap Singh.
