Thane, Jan 18 (UNI) Chairman of the Thane District Road Safety Committee and BJP MP from Bhiwandi, Kapil Patil, on Monday stressed the need for creation of awareness of safe road travel from the primary school.
Speaking after inaugurating the 32nd National Road Safety Campaign of the RTO office here, he said, "If road safety
awareness for safe travel is started from the primary school, there will be “Acche Din” and need to celebrate Safety Week in future."
District collector Rajesh Narvekar, Thane Police commissioner Vivek Phansalkar, Thane Regional Transport officer Ravindra Gaikwad, Thane District civil surgeon Dr Kailas Pawar and DCP (Transport Branch) Balasaheb Patil were among the dignitaries present for the function.
A pictorial chariot befitting the road safety celebrations was also inaugurated on the occasion.
