LIVE UPDATES:

27' FOUL! JFC defender Narender Gahlot brings down NEUFC's Luis Machado. The referee doesn't show a card. The Jamshedpur defenders are targeting Machado here.

24' SHOT! Luis Machado receives the ball just outside the box for NorthEast United. He dribbles past a Jamshedpur FC player and lets one fly. The ball goes out of play for a Jamshedpur goalkick.

21' GOOD SAVE! NorthEast has taken over the possession stats now. This was another attack from the Highlanders. Federico Gallego put in a cross into the box from the right and Idrissa Sylla was at the receiving end. His header on target was saved by TP Rehenesh, who pushed away the second shot from Dylan Fox as well.

19' YELLOW CARD! Jamshedpur FC's Amarjit Singh is booked by the referee for a harsh challenge on NorthEast United FC's Lalengmawia in midfield.

16' THROW-IN FOR NEUFC! JFC full-back Narender Gahlot does well to get the ball off an onrushing Luis Machado, who was in a dangerous position. Jamshedpur regains possession a few moments after the throw.

14' FREE-KICK FOR NEUFC! Stephen Eze concedes this one as well. Federico Gallego is on set-piece duty now. His shot misses the target by a whisker. The ball lands on the roof of the goalpost.

11' NEUFC CHANCE! Idrissa Sylla sets up his teammate Luis Machado on the left flank. Machado evades an opposition player and gets close to the box. But his cross attempt goes out of play as Jamshedpur regains possession.

8' WHAT A SAVE! NEUFC goalkeeper Subhasish Roy denies JFC striker Nerijus Valskis with his foot. The rebound falls to Jackichand Singh inside the box, and he fires the ball over the crossbar.

6' Jamshedpur FC has dominated possession early on, despite making quite a few silly fouls. The team, however, should be careful during NorthEast United FC counter-attacks.

3' FREE-KICK FOR NEUFC! JFC defender Stephen Eze brings down NorthEast forward Idrissa Sylla in midfield. Luis Machado will take the set-piece. His delivery into the box is easily cleared away by the Jamshedpur defence.

MATCH PREVIEW:

Jamshedpur FC and NorthEast United have been sailing through rough waters in the ongoing edition of the Indian Super League. On Sunday in Vasco, both the clubs will be looking to start afresh.

After the Highlanders drew 1-1 with Bengaluru FC — its seventh game without a win — the club announced the departure of head coach Gerard Nus and the appointment of Khalid Jamil as interim head coach.

On the other hand, FC Goa handed Jamshedpur its third loss (3-0) in four games last week. But the only silver lining is their statistical record against NorthEast — unbeaten in seven matches so far. Earlier this season, Jamshedpur had beaten the Highlanders 1-0.

Jamshedpur is dependent on Nerijus Valskis, who scored eight of the club’s 12 goals in this season. The remaining four are shared by Stephen Eze (3) and Aniket Jadhav (1).

Jamshedpur has conceded 10 out of 15 goals in the second half and it will be keen on improving in that period.

Alexandre Lima will not be available for the match after the red card against the Gaurs.

The Highlanders are a quality side but they have remained largely inconsistent. They had enjoyed a six-game unbeaten run at the start of the season before the downward spiral.

Idrissa Sylla, who missed the last match, is likely to return. Ghanaian striker Kwesi Appiah has been ruled out of the season. Deshorn Brown, who played the first half of ISL 2020-21 with Bengaluru FC, is his replacement.

ISL 2020-21 will be televised live at 7.30 pm IST on Star Sports and live streamed on Disney+Hotstar and Jio TV.
