Synopsis

Situated near Kevadiya in Gujarat's Narmada district, the 'Statue of Unity' is the world's tallest statue and monumental tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, independent India's first home minister as well as deputy prime minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday flagged off eight trains connecting different parts of the country to Kevadia in Gujarat, via video conferencing.

These trains will connect Kevadia to Varanasi, Dadar, Ahmedabad, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Rewa, Chennai and Pratapnagar.

Modi said these trains will help boost tourism in the tribal region and increase connectivity to the world's tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, which he inaugurated in October 2018 on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 143rd birth anniversary.

The Ahmedabad-Kevadia Jan Shatabdi Express, one of the eight trains, has been equipped with the 'Vista-dome tourist coach' which offers large viewing areas with rooftop glasses and seats for passengers.

Modi also inaugurated the DabhoiChandod converted broad gauge railway line, ChandodKevadia new broad gauge rail line, newly electrified PratapnagarKevadia section and the new station buildings of Dabhoi, Chandod and Kevadia.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and his Uttar Pradesh counterpart Yogi Adityanath joined the event via video link.

and those giving Gyan should also know that during previous rule, new train was introduced when elections were scheduled for the state. The current Govt does not introduce new trains in budget based on election but on the readiness..

Good move.. will also help people to travel to places which falls in route and not only for the tourism. Some intellectual have problems for every infra development in the country which can be ignored. More trains lead to hiring of more pantry staff and more business for small
Vendors enroute and in the place of tourism.

My objection is normal train
services have not resume, what was the need to add new services for modi vested interest. As railways recovers only 53 percent of the cost of tickets why should railways occur a lost to boost tourism for modi, and it's a Chinese made statues.
