Ex-MLA supervises school repairing work

Bishnupur, January 16 2021: With a bid to renovate Pombikhok Primary School, which was once a leading Government school in Kumbi Assembly Constituency, ex-MinisterN Mangi has supervised repairing of classroom floors and fixed roofs besides cleaning up the whole school campus.

The repairing and sanitary work was jointly initiated by N Mangi other local representatives including M Brojen Singh, ZP Member of Wangoo Borayangbi Gram Panchayat; Th Binokumar, Pradhan of Borayangbi GP; P Baleshore, Pradhan of Wangoo Terakhong GP and Ward Members of the area.

On the sidelines of the programme, N Mangi said that the school which was one of the best schools of the area which helped produce brilliant schools, has degenerated over time and thus the enrolment has been reduced considerably.

With the bid to help the school retain its former glory, the repairing work was conducted, he said.

The initiative is also aimed at assisting 'School Phagathansi Mission' of the BJP-led Government, he said while highlighting the need of developing infrastructures of the local Government schools to re-attract and ensure best form of education to students.

Priority should be given in garnering trust of the guardians to make them enrol their wards in the Government schools and in nurturing the wards with the best education system.

For these, the Government is set to fill shortages in teaching staff apart from constructing buildings and other additional infrastructures, he continued.

Considering the immediate need, the work was initiated before the arrival of Government's aid by sharing the repairing cost among himself, ZP Member and Pradhans, he said.

Besides such a work, all necessary preparation and work will be taken up to ensure potable water to all villages under Kumbi AC by 2024 in line with the Central and State Governments' bigger mission, he said while seeking support of all to help revive Government schools.
