Two die in accidents due to dense fog

Gurgaon: Low visibility due to dense fog led to two fatal road accidents in two different areas of the city on Friday morning.
In the first case, a truck driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a two-wheeler rider in Pataudi area. Police said Rakesh Kumar (40), was on his way to deliver milk when his motorcycle was hit.
He came under the wheels of the truck and sustained critical injuries. The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.
Naresh Kumar, Rakesh’s brother, said that he had a dairy farm and used to deliver milk in several areas every morning.
“On Friday he left home around 7 am to deliver milk. Around 8 am we got a call and a person told us about the accident,” Naresh said. He added that he rushed to the spot and found that his brother had been taken to a hospital. By the time he reached the hospital, doctors had declared Rakesh dead.
In another case, two students of Industrial Training Institute (ITI), who were on their way to the campus in Jatauli on a two-wheeler, were hit by a bus. The youth riding the bike, identified as Ramesh Kumar, came under the wheels of the bus and died on the spot. The girl riding pillion sustained minor injuries.
In both the cases, FIRs were registered under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (death in accident) of the IPC at Pataudi police station and Haily Mandi police chowki. “For the past few days, visibility has remained low in the morning. We urge people to drive carefully. The accidents have happened because of the fog,” police spokesperson Subhash Boken said.
