Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Sirpur (T) MLA Koneru Konappa said that the State government was allocating sufficient funds for improving roads and bridges infrastructure in remote areas of the constituency.
He laid the foundation stone to a low-level bridge across Erravagu on the outskirts of Raspelli village in Kaghaznagar mandal on Saturday. The estimated cost of the bridge is Rs 5 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Konappa stated that scores of bridges were constructed in different parts of the constituency over the past six years, bringing respite to dwellers of remote villages. He added that many villages were now equipped with black top roads and residents of interior habitations could easily access the external world for various needs including medical emergencies.
People of Raspelli and surrounding hamlets thanked the legislator for fulfilling their long cherished dream by constructing the bridge. In the absence of the bridge across the stream, they were forced to remain disconnected from the rest of the constituency during the monsoon season every year. They had been demanding the successive governments over past several years, for construction of the bridge to no avail.
