Agartala, Jan 16 (UNI) Along with nationwide launching of vaccine against Covid-19 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a virtual function today formally inaugurated the administering Covishield vaccine at Gandhigram primary health centre.
While wishing the success of the vaccination program to fight against coronavirus, Deb sought cooperation from all concerned to accomplish the immunisation task for defeating Covid-19. He remained that even after vaccination, it is necessary to follow the norms of wearing a mask, maintain physical distancing and washing hands as much as possible.
“The habit of maintaining personal hygiene we developed due to Covid has to be a part of our regular life for keeping us safe from all contagious and viral diseases in future too. The vaccine would be given free of cost to all in a phased manner with adequate precautions but every individual must follow the instruction of central government issued from time to time,” Deb underlined.
Tripura has received 56500 doses of Covishield in 6000 vials for rolling out vaccination programs across 152 session sites of the state in the government hospitals. According to the decision, the first phase of vaccination would administer 45,420 health care workers and others would be subsequently.
The top health officials said not more than 25 people would be vaccinated in a day in each of the session sites and hopefully within 10 days vaccination of all targeted front line Covid warriors.
