MUMBAI: Mumbai Metro in collaboration with Mybyk has launched "rent-a-bicycle" service at Versova Metro station to improve last mile connectivity, especially for those using the Metro services.
The first such facility had come up at Jagruti nagar Metro station in February 2020. The facility at Versova Metro station was launched by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) commissioner RA Rajeev today.
Mumbai Metro one official said, “These bicycle services will be extended to other metro stations in the coming weeks.”
The bicycles will be available on rent at Versova metro station at a reasonable price of just Rs.2 per hour. Metro commuters will be able to hire these GPS enabled bicycles using MyByk App. The App will self-guide commuters for unlocking the bicycles to avail the service.
Speaking on the occasion CEO of Mumbai Metron Shubhodoy Mukherjee said, “"Since inception, we have always believed that every commuter is our responsibility and it is our duty to ease their commute in all possible ways. In our constant endeavor to provide world class services, we are glad to now launch bicycle on rent services at Versova Metro station too. We urge everyone to avail the services. Happy Journey."
