Another Madhya Pradesh man dies after air pumped into his rectum, this time for fun

BHOPAL: Fun turned tragedy in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh where a youth died allegedly after his friend pumped air into his rectum with a compressor that was being used to dry pulses.
This is the second such incident in the state within a month. Last case as reported from Shivpuri December last year where a similar conduct by an employer had cost a labourer his life.
Katni police have registered a case against the accused under various sections. Police said that the accused and the victim are friends employed at Dal mill under Madhav Nagar police station area in Katni. Vinod Thakur and his friend Sukhram Yadav were changing their clothes inside the restroom when the incident took place.
Thakur allegedly inserted a nozzle of pulses drying compressor into his friend’s privates and pumped air. Within a few seconds, the victim's stomach swelled and his condition worsened. He was admitted to a private hospital in critical condition.
“He is placed in the ICU where he died after some time,” said a police officer. Accused has been arrested. Doctors informed police that damages in the internal organs led to Yadav’s death.
Katni SP Sandip Dhakad told TOI that he has written a letter to the district collector for a parallel inquiry into the circumstances leading to his death. “The spot of the incident is a dal mill so we want to have transparent investigations into all the aspects. We are waiting for an autopsy report,” said SP.
In the previous incident it was a 40-year-old man who died in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh who died after his employer allegedly pumped air into his rectum by inserting a compressor, after a dispute over wages. Deceased Permanand Dhakad, resident of Gazigad Dhoria village in Shivpuri district, was a daily wage employee at a stone crusher.
Stone crusher owner and four of his employees were involved. Dhakad was thrashed up by the employer after he approached him for his wages on November 8. He pumped air inserting a compressor into his rectum while three other employees overpowered him, it is alleged. All of them have been arrested.
When Dhakad’s condition worsened, they took him to a private hospital in Gwalior without informing his family members. When doctors failed to revive his condition, they brought him back and got him admitted at district hospital.
They told his family that he was suffering some gastric problems. However, when Dhakad gained consciousness after 48 hours, he narrated the ordeal he went through. Thereafter, family members went to the local police station and lodged a complaint.
