KIWT 2021: Ward No 3 start on impressive note, Ward No 16 hold Ward No 17

Kangpokpi, January 15 2021: Vengthah Ward No 3, the oldest Ward among the seventeen ward of Kangpokpi district Headquarters started its campaign in the ongoing 17th Kanggui Inter Ward Tournament 2021 at Brig M Thomas Ground Kangpokpi today on an impressive note by registering 6-0 win over Ward No 9 .

Thangjahao Haokip and a promising young player Manglenngam Khongsai's brilliant performance besides the impressive combination of the team stunned the audience who witnessed the awe-inspiring match conducted with strict adherence to COVID protocols.

Thangjahao Haokip gave Ward No 3 an early lead when he brilliantly scored in the 7th minute before dazzling Manglenngam Khongsai volleyed home in the 9th minute and added another goal in the 11th minute.

Manglenngam Khongsai added another goal in the 16th minute before Thangjahao Haokip pump in another two goals in the 26th and 52nd minutes to wrap up the match 6-0 .

Ward No 9 fought back in the second half but failed to break the tough defence of Ward No 3 led by Khaigouhao Khongsai.

The second match was a goalless draw between Ward No 16 and Ward No 17 despite efforts from both sides.

Ward No 1 will play Ward No 3 (B) team in the main football in the first match tomorrow while Ward No 4 will play Ward No 5 & 6 .
