Miss Cayman Islands Committee Responds to Armie Hammer's Alleged Private Video with 'Miss Cayman'

A statement has been released by the Miss Cayman Islands Universe Committee after a video from Armie Hammer‘s alleged private Instagram account was leaked online.

In the video, Armie gives a tour of his hotel room in the Cayman Islands and there is a woman dressed in lingerie who is waiting for him on the bed. In the caption of the post, she was referred to as “Miss Cayman.”

The committee is distancing themselves from Armie and the video, saying that the woman featured in the video is not affiliated to the pageant.

It was also said in the statement that the video was reported to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

“The Miss Cayman Islands Universe Committee is aware of a video allegedly posted by Armie Hammer referring to a scantily clad young woman as ‘Miss Cayman,’” the statement read. “The Committee is very disturbed by the video and would like to confirm that the woman is not the reigning Miss Cayman Islands and has no affiliation to the Miss Cayman Islands Universe pageant.”

The statement continued, “The Committee and the reigning Miss Cayman regard this issue with the utmost seriousness and the matter has been reported to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS). The role of Miss Cayman is in part, to serve as a role model to young Caymanian women. The depiction of the woman in the video goes against all that our organisation stands for and the Committee is consequently requesting that Mr. Hammer immediately remove all references to Miss Cayman from his social media channels.”

A celebrity is defending Armie against the allegations that have been made this week.
