Gehlot launches COVID-19 vaccination drive in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Jan 16 (UNI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Saturday launched the first phase of
COVID-19 vaccination drive across the state.
Mr Gehlot launched the drive through an online programme organised at Chief Minister's residence.
The first vaccination shot was administered to Sawai Mansingh Medical College principal Sudhir Bhandari.
Mr Bhandari said he did not feel any inconvenience after he was vaccinated.
In the first phase, vaccination drive began at 167 centres in 33 districts.

Health care workers will administered vaccine in the first phase.
State Health Minister Raghu Sharma said during the first phase, 4,80,977 health workers from state and over 6,000 from the Centre will be vaccinated.
The next dose will be administered to them after a gap of 28 days.
Seven crore people of the state will be vaccinated during various phases, Mr Sharma said.
Health department has made all arrangements to carry out the drive, he added.

Shimla, Jan 16 (UNI) As Premier Narendra Modi virtually launched nationwide covid-19 vaccination drive from Delhi on Saturday, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that in the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination, 93,000 doses would be administered to the front line warriors including health care workers of the state.
