SYS for local Pundits, Lamas at religious places of Sikkim

Gangtok, Jan 15 (UNI) The Sikkim Yuva Sangthan on Friday urged for deployment of local Pundits, Purohits and Monks to different religious places of the state, saying that it would reduce the widespread unemployment in the state, while also being beneficial for the state's economy.
''Society is urged to support and cooperate,'' said K N Rizal, President of SYS.
He lamented the drain of wealth going to other countries through foreign Priests and urged the government state to remove foreigners and have own swadeshi Priests.
''Ensure proper place for Pundits, Purohits and Lamas of Sikkim,'' said Mr Rizal, while stressing that religious business should stop.
The SYS chief further requested the Ecclisiastical Department for the issuance of Identity Cards to local priests. He also pointed out that many institutions were being run by the Government, from where many educated pundits had passed. He urged the government to deputed these priests to the Temples.
''Public should be able to invite them online,'' said Mr Rizal.
