Kerala Blasters Head Coach Kibu Vicuna After the Match

"It was like the other match against East Bengal. That time we scored and this time unfortunately they did. We conceded the corner and we conceded. We are disappointed because we worked hard to get the three points but didn't get it.

"We are trying to improve the results. In the beginning, we conceded too many goals playing from behind so we are trying to avoid those passes and play from the side. I think with the players we have with Gary and Jordan and we created chances.

"I think we are trying to get the best results with our team. We are starting with long balls as our team is more comfortable with that but that doesn't mean we are not playing football. We are creating chances and trying to get results."

SC East Bengal Head Coach Robbie Fowler After the Game

"I think we were losing the game and to get the equaliser, it keeps us rolling. Not a good goal to concede, I don't know if it was offside, will have to see. Aaron's chance, he should have scored probably. We'll take the point.

"He's been incredible since he came in, we've got players who are playing well and so we can't drop them, which is why Aaron came in late. He is a handful, he has the strength, gets his body on the line. He's got every attribute of being a great striker.

"Ajay Chhetri is obviously new, we've got him on loan. He's a talented player, he can get the ball moving. He is a young lad and we have to look at him in the next game but we've got to play him well.

"We have an ethos with the players with the way the game should be played. We had probably 64 per cent pass percentage, we want our players to play the right way. There's a lot to play for, we are heading the right way and it's a good point in the end because we were behind."

21:41 (IST)

Jordan Murray After the Match

"I finished it off well. But very disappointed we couldn't get the three points, conceding in literally the last minute. So it's disappointing.

"I like someone there (2-striker system) from my personal point of view. I like having Gary around, we talk about football. His movement is quite similar to mine, we are sort of on the same wavelength where we don't really have to speak to each other and just get the pass.

"I'll take anything. I just had a nudge in the back which got me disbalanced. But I'll take it.

"I gave him a bit of a wave and said thank you. We will take this result and look for things to improve."

21:37 (IST)

Hero of the Match Sahal Abdul Samad After the Game

"We are disappointed with the result but we worked hard. We were good in both defence and attack. In the end, the result matter. We are happy with the point, we go on and work hard.

"It (Hero of the Match award) boosts my confidence and pushes me to work hard.

"We know what Bengaluru is capable of. We look forward to a tough match."

HALF TIME

It's been a battle out there at the Tilak Maidan today. Both SC East Bengal and Kerala Blasters have had a go at each other even though Kerala Blasters had more control over the proceedings for the first 35 minutes or so. Jordan Murray and Sahal Abdul Samad had early chances while Vicente Gomez sent over two free headers. East Bengal also had a big chance but Albino Gomes was up to the occasion and made the big save. Kerala Blasters' Jeakson Singh and East Bengal's Milan Singh have been the two bookings of the first half.

SC East Bengal 0-0 Kerala Blasters

20:10 (IST)

39' | Excellent intervention by Nishu! Bright has the ball, has the skill and the speed to trouble Kerala, but Nishu gets in a solid tackle to take the ball away from him.

SC East Bengal 0-0 Kerala Blasters

20:06 (IST)

35' | A good training ground free kick routine from Kerala Blasters but not the desired result. Sahal stands on the ball instead of Facundo Pereyra, who instead stays outside the box on the right. While everyone is in the six-yard box, Sahal plays the ball in the centre for Pereyra who gets to the ball but blasts it over. Disappointing end product even though the idea was a good one.

SC East Bengal 0-0 Kerala Blasters

20:05 (IST)

Milan Singh Booked

34' | Milan Singh goes into the referee's books for a rash tackle on Jordan Murray. Now, that's one yellow card each for both the teams.

19:56 (IST)

25' | Bright is fouled by Sahal right outside the box but the referee plays advantage instead of giving a free kick as the East Bengal gets up and tries to take a shot. Poor decision from the referee, that should have been a free kick for East Bengal.

In the previous game between SC East Bengal and Kerala Blasters, the Blasters scored in the dying moments of the match to earn a 1-1 draw. But since then East Bengal have gone on a four-match unbeaten run while Kerala Blasters have won two games and lost two. The addition of young Bright Enobakhare has bolstered their forward line with the Nigerian contributing two goals from three games. The midfield has also stepped up, providing 7 of their 10 goals this season - contributing more than any other midfield. But similar to SCEB, Kerala's attack has also been in form, scoring 13 goals - only Mumbai City FC and Hyderabad FC have netted more. Eight different goal scorers have been involved for Kibu Vicuna's side - the joint-most by a team.

East Bengal's current run of form pleases coach Robbie Fowler but he knows they still have a lot to fight for as they look to remain in contention for the playoffs. "Of course, we are not getting carried away," he said. "We are on a good little run and when people were quick to criticise us, we weren't getting carried away and likewise. We know there's plenty of hard work that we will be continuing to do. We look a more confident team and a settled team. We are in a good space but we need to keep growing and do what we are doing. So far, it has progressed more than the way we wanted at the start."

For Kerala Blasters' head coach Kibu Vicuna, their struggling defence is not an issue as long as his side is scoring more goals. "The most important thing is not about conceding but scoring more than the opponent," Vicuna said. "If you score more than you concede, the morale is automatically high. We are working on that. The important thing right now is that the last few matches we have been creating chances. We have to continue this with balance and limit opponents to lesser chances and (ensure) that they don't score."
