Why India observes January 15 as Army Day
Army Day is celebrated on January 15 every year in recognition of Field Marshal KM Cariappa's taking over as the first commander-in-chief of the Indian Army from General Francis Butcher, the last British Commander in 1949. The 73rd Army Day celebrations were held Friday at Delhi's Parade Ground amid COVID-19 protocols. In a first, 'swarm drone system' featured at the parade that also had detachments of India's anti-aircraft, missile and multi-barrel rocket launch systems. Watch this video to know more. (Text: PTI)
