New Delhi, Jan 15 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched the third phase of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana in 600 districts across the country.
The PM Kaushal Vikash Yojan has been oriented by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and this phase will focus on new-age and COVID-related skills.
Skill India Mission-PMKVY 3.0 will provide training of eight lakh candidates over a scheme period of 2020-2021 with an outlay of 949 crore rupees.
On this occasion, the Skill Development Minister Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey interacted with various students of the skill development centres.
With an aim to making India as a skill capital of the world, Mr Modi launched the Skill India programme in 2015 and it has gained tremendous momentum through the launch of its flagship scheme PMKVY and so far, over 73 lakhs candidates have been trained under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
