Crime rate: Nitish leaving people at mercy of God, Cong alleges

Patna, Jan 15 (UNI) Congress on Friday alleged that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar left people of the state at the mercy of God to save his chair as criminals were striking at their will, creating a fear psychosis among them.

Former president of youth wing of Bihar Congress Lalan Kumar told mediapersons here that crime in the state has increased alarmingly, causing a threat to safety and security of the common man.

A letter would be written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to direct Nitish Kumar to take concrete steps to check the rising crime graph in Bihar, he added.

Mr Kumar said the situation had come to such a sorry state that people were now treating murders as normal incidents.

It was painful to note that a senior official of Indigo Airlines Rupesh Kumar Singh was shot dead in Patna but the Chief Minister instead of taking concrete step to check crimes, was engaged in saving his own chair, he alleged.
