Ensure pandemic SOP after resuming on-campus classes, CISCE tells schools

KOLKATA: The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has asked the heads of schools, which are re-opening classes X and XII as one after another state governments are permitting children to attend physical classes, to follow the standard operating procedure and norms of social distancing. The instructions from the Council are, however, not applicable in Bengal as the state government is yet to allow students on campus.
“This is leading to a crisis. The Council wants the schools to hold face-to-face interactions for at least two months before holding the board exams,” said a school principal. She added: “While several other poll-bound states and even Delhi have permitted classes X and XII to be back on campus, we have no progress here. How can we cope with the doubt-clearing sessions, revisions and arranging the practical classes?” she questioned.
The schools are also being advised by the Council to utilize the time available before the examinations effectively to ensure that ICSE and ISC students complete their project work and submit them for evaluation.
