Guar gum futures fall on low demand

Guar gum prices on Friday fell Rs 4 to Rs 6,085 per five quintal in futures market as traders offloaded their holdings in line with weak trend at spot market.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar gum for February delivery fell by Rs 4, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 6,085 per five quintal in 52,260 lots.

Guar gum for March delivery dropped by Rs 7, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 6,150 per five quintal in 1,430 lots.

Marketmen said slackness in demand in the spot market and increased supplies from growing regions put pressure on guar gum prices.
