DMK to lead an alliance in next elections: Siva

DMK to lead an alliance in next elections: Siva

Puducherry, Jan 15 (UNI) Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) which is now in the congress alliance created a flutter by stating that the party will lead an alliance in the next assembly elections here.

Speaking at the Thiruvalluvar Day function here on Friday, DMK(South) convener R Siva MLA said that the DMK will lead an alliance in the next assembly elections and the party will accept any parties approaching it for an alliance.Parties which never considered the DMK is presently holding discussions with the DMK for an alliance.

Several parties are now knocking at the doors of 'Anna Arivalayam', he said. The People of Puducherry wanted a change and as per the desire of the people, the DMK is also heading towards a change, he added.

There is no doubt that Mr Stalin will be the chief minister of Tamilnadu, Siva said, adding that similarly, a government headed by the DMK will be formed in the union territory.

Challenging the BJP whether it could show any candidate with chances of winning elections, Siva charged that coming to power by 'purchasing' the candidates who won the elections is the policy of BJP.

Rumors are there that people from other parties are trying to join the BJP. Is there any one from DMK in this list, he asked.

He also charged that the BJP is getting verdicts in their favour by appointing party supporters in court and added that the judgements in NEET and GST were obtained so. Now, in a bid to sent back the farmers agitating in Delhi to their respective states, a stay was given on the implementation of the farm laws, he charged.

Siva also said that apart from getting statehood for Puducherry, the stance of the DMK is that full power should be with the elected government here.

A new government will be formed in Puducherry in another couple of months in which DMK ministers will be there. After that, Puducherry will develop fast, all vacant government posts will be filled up and new industrial units will be started here, he added.
