Ahmedabad: Gujarat government will study the efficacy of laws enacted in UP and MP against ‘love jihad’ and consider a similar Act, deputy CM Nitin Patel has said. Speaking to the media after inauguration of VHP’s fund raising for Ram Mandir he said: “society moves according to norms and traditions of religion and family values but some people allure or misguide Hindu girls and marry them. We have seen that most of these girls are then ill-treated and live in misery.
Their parents too live in grief and a disquiet is fomented in society... Laws have been made in UP and MP to stop such marriages to avoid such situations.”
