NITIE, Mumbai launches a Global Certification Course on Supply Chain Digitization and Management

The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai, the leading institute in India for Operations and Supply Chain Management, is all set to launch the ‘Global Online Certification Course on Supply Chain Digitization and Management’ in collaboration with Prof. David Simchi-Levi from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. The course will be inaugurated online on January 16th, 2021. Shri Suresh Prabhu, AICTE Chairman, Several Industry CEOs such as Dr. R.S. Sodhi, MD - GCMMF (Amul), Mr. Sanat Chattopadhyay, President - Merck, Mr. Pradeep Goyal, MD - Pradeep Metals and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education - Dr. Madhu Ranjan along with Joint Financial Advisor to MEdu - Dr. Darshana Dabral has agreed to kindly grace the inaugural event. It is a 30-hour weekend-only course for students, faculty, Industry professionals to help them gain a better understanding of digital transformation in supply chains.
In particular, at a time when the Covid-19 Pandemic has disrupted supply chains all over the world, this course aims to promote practices to perfect the adoption of digitally competent and resilient supply chains. The course also aims to support efficient logistics and supply chain operations to promote the idea of making India a self-sufficient nation. It will introduce Prof. Simchi-Levi’s unique framework that combines the three technology trends - Digitization, Analytics, and Automation to reinvent the supply chain by improving its efficiency, profitability, and growth.
More than 1,200 participants from all over the globe are going to be a part of this course which includes students and academicians from eminent institutions like IIMs, IITs and alike along with industry professionals from reputed organizations such as PwC, Micron, P&G, IBM, Titan, Reliance, HUL, General Mills, Amul, Deloitte, and many more.
NITIE was established in 1963 by the Government of India with a purpose to advance transformative education and industry-inspired research, thus helping Indian businesses to make their presence felt globally. NITIE’s Director, Prof. Manoj Tiwari, who has extensive experience in Optimization, Simulation, and Computational Intelligence of complex Supply Chain Networks, is spearheading the course to carry forward this purpose. Majority of the course sessions will be conducted by Prof. David Simchi-Levi, a renowned Professor and Thought Leader in the field of Supply Chain Management. Prof. Simchi-Levi also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Management Science and is the recipient of the prestigious INFORMS Impact Prize 2020 for his work on Supply Chain Resilience.
