Active coronavirus cases shrink to 2.03 pc

New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) Active novel coronavirus caseload in the country has contracted to 2.03 per cent with the increased recovery rate and declining trajectory of the virus in the nation.
Fatality rate due to the pandemic also reduced to less than 200 deaths per day.
As per Union Health Ministry data on Thursday, 16,946 fresh infections have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to over 1,05,12,000. Around 17,652 people recovered during the same period, pushing the recoveries to 1,01,46,763 and the recovery rate surging to 96.52 per cent.
The death toll mounted to 1,51,727 with 198 new fatalities. The fatality rate stands at 1.44 per cent.
There are 2,13,603 active coronavirus infections in the country which comprise 2.03 per cent of the total caseload.
