No deaths from coronavirus in eleven states, UTs

New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) There have been no deaths due to coronavirus in 11 states and Union Territories during the last 24 hours in the country, according to the data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Thursday.

There were no deaths from the coronavirus in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Manipur, Mizoram, Puducherry, Sikkim and Tripura in the past 24 hours.

A total of 16,946 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, due to which the the total number of infections has exceeded 1,05,12,000, as per the data.

During this time, 17,652 patients have been recovered, raising the total number of recoveries to 1,00,46,763.

The number of active cases has been reduced by 904 and now stands at 2,13,000.

The country also witnessed 198 deaths in the last 24 hours, mounting the death toll to 1,51,727.

The recovery rate in the country has increased to 96.52 per cent and the rate of active cases has gone up to 2.03 per cent while the death rate is still 1.44 per cent.
