Amazon is aiming to boost its Prime Video offering in Italy by bidding for the domestic broadcasting rights of the country's top-tier football league Serie A, according to unnamed sources cited by Bloomberg. The league has set a 26 January deadline to sell rights for the 2021-24 cycle and is aiming to raise a minimum of EUR 1.15 billion per season, around 20 percent more than the EUR 973 million per season paid by current rights holders Sky Italia and OTT platform DAZN.
