New York man charged in Capitol siege said he considered it a ‘little adventure,’ feds say
An upstate New York man who admitted to being a part of the mob on the U.S. Capitol final week informed investigators he took photos in the constructing throughout the siege as a part of what he referred to as a “little adventure,” courtroom papers present.
Albert Ciarpelli, a 65-year-old Syracuse man, was arrested Wednesday and charged with knowingly coming into or remaining in a restricted constructing and fascinating in disorderly or disruptive conduct on Capitol grounds.
Ciarpelli was captured in information and surveillance images contained in the Capitol throughout the Jan. 6 breach, and pictures of him had been launched by the FBI and police, in accordance with the legal criticism for his arrest.

His legal professional didn’t reply to Fox News’ requests for remark.
Ciarpelli informed federal brokers a number of days in the past he discovered a partially opened door on the Capitol constructing and informed brokers “he then did something that he knew he should not have and made his way into the building,” courtroom papers state.

“[He] took his time making his way through the building taking pictures and looking at the states,” courtroom papers state. “He had never been in the building before and he was sight-seeing.”
He characterised his greater than quarter-hour strolling by way of the constructing and taking photos as a “little adventure.” He then “got the feeling that he should not be there and decided to leave,” courtroom papers additional state.

Ciarpelli informed brokers “that he was out of his mind and had never done anything like that before,” courtroom paperwork present.
An upstate New York choose launched him following his Wednesday afternoon arraignment. He is scheduled to seem in Washington, D.C., courtroom on Jan. 25, Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Southwick told The Post-Standard of Syracuse.
