Ubisoft has announced a brand-new live event kicking off on January 21 for Ghost Recon Breakpoint that features some characters from the tactical shooter Rainbow Six Siege.
Titled Operation Amber Sky, the free event includes nine new story missions tasking players with searching for an antidote to a noxious gas called Amber Ruin being produced by Sentinel. Alongside operators Ash, Finka, and Thatcher, players will travel into poisonous areas where, much like the Metro series, they must regularly change their mask filter to survive. Completing the missions unlocks various rewards, including new weapons and Rainbow Six Siege skins.
The three aforementioned Rainbow Six Siege operators will be available to deploy anywhere in Ghost Recon Breakpoint's world as alternate squadmates after players beat the first mission. Check out the Operation Amber Sky trailer above.
Operation Amber Sky is part of Ghost Recon Breakpoint's Title Update 3.10, which drops for free for everyone on January 19. In addition to the new story missions and squadmates, Title Update 3.10 brings about more than 120 customization items like clothing and accessories.
Going alongside the event is a free trial of Ghost Recon Breakpoint on all platforms. Players can check out the full game for free from January 21-24.
GameSpot may get a commission from retail offers.
