Worldwide semiconductor revenues rebound in 2020, rising 7% to USD 450 billion - Gartner

Worldwide semiconductor revenue rebounded in 2020, rising 7.3 percent from the year before to USD 449.8 billion, according to preliminary numbers from Gartner. The rise follows a decline of 12 percent in 2019. Gartner noted that while automotive, industrial and some areas of the consumer market were hit hard by reduced enterprise and consumer spending, lockdowns associated with the coronavirus pandemic increased work and learning from home, benefitting sectors facilitating those activities.
