Denied entry, three persons torch poster in Sayajibaug

The incident shocked the park authorities
Vadodara: In a bizarre incident, three persons threw petrol on the poster hung on the main gate of Sayajibaug and set it on fire on Tuesday night.
“At about 8.45 pm, about three men asked the security guard to open the gate. They were told that they cannot enter as the park closes at 7 pm,” said Mangesh Jaiswal, in-charge director of parks and gardens, VMC.
This angered the trio who then returned with bottles filled with petrol that they threw on the posters hung on the gate. The posters displayed timings apart from the Covid-19 rules that have to be followed inside the park. VMC officials said that they put out the fire and contacted the police. “We got CCTV footage of the gate’s entry but their faces are not clearly visible,” said S G Solanki, Sayajigunj police inspector. Cops are now trying to get the license plate number of the bikes that they were driving. The park is very popular among the citizens.
