Then and now: How Kareena Kapoor Khan’s maternity style has evolved through her pregnancies

Kareena Kapoor Khan's maternity style is just as inspiring as the person herself. Ever since she dropped the news that she was expecting her second child with her Saif Ali Khan, the 40-year-old star has been serving one notable look after another. Even her at-home style is decidedly glam, complete with comfortable kaftans and co-ord sets.

Back in 2016, when the actor was expecting her first child, Taimur Ali Khan, her wardrobe perfectly morphed into a collection of roomy, wearable ensembles that also delivered on style. While the star favoured easy shirt dresses and layers that drew the attention away from the waistline, the star didn't shy away from going all-out at black-tie events too. Her Gauri & Nainika gown at the Lux Golden Rose Awards and another black empire waist gown with a lace bodice were all-eyes-on-me looks for the mom-to-be. All in all, the actor preferred anti-fit numbers and often stuck to neutral tones or dark colours for eveningwear.  

Cut to 2020, the star's wardrobe has changed to include sharp tailored separates and plenty of twin sets. With no sings of a hiatus from work—and equally noteworthy are the mom-to-be’s fashion choices—Kapoor Khan has embraced a bolder sense of style. Apart from the occasional tiered midi or kaftan, the star has resumed her shooting schedule in an array of clothing featuring asymmetrical cuts, luxurious fabrics and unexpected styles that highlighted her baby bump. 

Khan's outings have seen her in luxe silk co-ord sets, kaftan dresses and even some shirt dresses. She has balanced all-out glam in a shimmering silver gown with a deep V-neck and high slit, with workwear separates without taking away from shape. Her wardrobe now includes contemporary prints, on-trend lounge wear and one-shoulder numbers for at-home occasions.
