National Youth Day at Lilong Haoreibi College

As it is done elsewhere in the country, Lilong Haoreibi College celebrated the National Youth Day in commemoration with the birth anniversary of the great Indian youth icon Swami Vivekananda today at the Multipurpose Hall of the College.

Vice – Chancellor of Manipur University Prof. Amar Yumnam, College Development Council Director of the University Prof. Th. Ratankumar and Lilong Haoreibi College Principal Dr. Raheijuddin Sheikh attended the function as the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and President respectively.

Deliberations on ‘Youths in the South East Asia’ by Prof. Amar Yumnam, ‘Youths & Skill Development’ by Prof. Th. Ratankumar and ‘Youths in Manipur’ by Dr. Raheijuddin Sheikh followed by the Prize Distribution to the winners of the Online Essay Competition are the main highlights of the celebrations.

First Prize of Rs. 3,000/- with citation was awarded to the B Voc. student of Lilong Haoreibi College Moulana Nishar Ahmed and Second prize of Rs. 2,000/- plus citation was awarded to the BSc student of Ideal Girls College Ksh. Lanchenbi Chanu.

Lilong Haoreibi College students Kh. Hussaini, Dilshad Ahmed and Saddam Khan were given consolation prizes worth Rs. 500/- each with citations. The prizes include cash award of Rs.3, 000/- and Rs. 2,000/- to the first and second toppers and consolation of Rs. 500/- each to the remaining 3 competitors along with citations.
