ETMarkets.comBenchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 47.70 points up at 14611.15 on Wednesday on account of buying in frontline bluechip counters.
Among the stocks that touched their 52-week highs on NSE were: Adani Ports and SEZ, Bajaj Electricals, Emami; DLF; ICICI Bank; IFB Industries; Kirloskar Industries; Persistent Systems; Sobha; Tata Power Company; Wipro.
Overall, 33 shares were trading in green in Nifty50 index, while 17 were trading in red in the afternoon trade.
In the Nifty 50 index, NTPC, Bharti Airtel, Indian Oil Corp, BPCL and ONGC were among top gainers, while Titan Company , HDFC, TCS, UPL and Bajaj Finance were trading in red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 136.44 points up at 49653.55. Traders were seen piling up position in General, Diversified, Telecommunications, Shipping and Gas & Petroleum sectors, while selling were visible in Electric/Electronics, Learning & Education, Trading, IT - Hardware and Apparels sectors.
