Modern Bus terminal at Cuttack to be named after Netaji Subash Chandra Bose

Modern Bus terminal at Cuttack to be named after Netaji Subash Chandra Bose

Bhubaneswar, Jan 13 (UNI) A new state of art modern bus terminal at Rs 65 crore to be named after Netaji Subash Chandra Bose will be set up at Khan Nagar in Cuttack city, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced today.

Spread over an area of 1,18,000 sq feet, the bus terminal will have all basic amenities and facilities for the passengers such as ticketing, information counter, food court, clock room, restroom and parking facilities for about 180 buses.

The bus terminal will be named after Netaji Subash Chandra Bose as he was born at Odia Bazaar in Cuttack and spent his school days in the city.

The new bus terminal will have terminal buildings for 180 Bus bays, local and Mo bus and regular bus bays.

Mr Patnaik said the government took the decision for a new bus terminal as the present bus stand located at the busy and crowded Badambadi lacked space and other facilities for the passengers.

The Chief Minister said an integrated management system will be in operation for the benefit of the passengers.

The meeting decided to extend the ring road for another two km for construction of the modern bus terminal.

In future a commercial complex over two acres of land would be developed under PPP mode, official sources said.
