Kenyan data protection commissioner drafts new rules to prohibit sale of personal details to third parties

Kenya's Office of the Data Protection Commissioner is seeking to prohibit the sale of personal data to third parties, reports Citizen News. A draft guidance note says that Data Commissioner Immaculate Kassait requires consent forms to be issued before people's personal information is taken. Under no circumstances should their details be collected and sold to third parties or transferred out of the country, unless the person concerned consents to the transfer.
