Majority of Americans back Trump's impeachment

Washington, Jan 13 (UNI) A new poll conducted by the CBS News on Wednesday suggested that a majority of Americans supported the second impeachment of US President Donald Trump.
The CBS poll results showed that 55 per cent residents of the United States were in favour of impeachment of their 45th President, while 45 per cent showed unity with him. The results came, just hours before the House of Representatives was due to hold a vote on impeaching Mr Trump.
As several security agencies expressed apprehensions over the violence being repeated again, the poll results showed that 74 per cent believed that it was at least 'somewhat likely'.
''Seventy per cent of Americans don't want to see President Trump's supporters hold protests next week. But most of Mr Trump's 2020 voters, who are less likely than Americans overall to think violence is likely next week, would favour protests," the CBS said.
