Happy Lohri 2021: From Amitabh Bachchan to Dharmendra, Akshay Kumar to Adnan Sami, celebs wish peace and prosperity upon fans

As people in India celebrate Lohri, the harvest festival with a lot of excitement and fervour in north India, Bollywood celebrities took to their respective social media handles to extend good wishes to fans and followers. As is known to all, B-Town celebs celebrate each and every festival with equal vigour. Amitabh Bachchan, taking to Twitter wrote, 'Happy Lohri .. prosperity and peace'. Akshay Kumar, who celebrates Lohri with much pomp and merry, tweeted, 'Wishing you all a very #HappyLohri. May this joyous occasion bring happiness and prosperity to you and your family.' Kangana, who is quite active on social media, wished fans Happy Lohri. In her post, she revealed that there's a tradition of singing Lohri in Himachal Pradesh. Her tweet read, 'In Himachal we have a tradition of singing Lohri, when I was small, children made groups and sang Lohri in neighbourhoods and collected money/sweets, children in villages and joint families have much more fun than city kids in nuclear families, anyway #HappyLohri2021.' Nimrit Kaur, who was missing home, wrote, 'Miss being home for the revarees, gajjak and the crackling sounds and warmth of the bonfire today... #HappyLohri all.' Singer Adnan Sami also joined in and wrote, 'Here’s Wishing Everyone of You a Very ‘Happy Lohri’ with All My Love & Duas!' Actor turned politician Hema Malini wrote, 'To all my dear Twitter friends Happy Lohri!' Sunny Deol shared a video of himself where he wished the fans a very Happy Lohri. His son and actor Karan Deol, too, took to the platform and wished fans in a tweet that read,'Wish you all very much #HappyLohri', accompanied by a few crop emojis referring to the festival of harvest. Director Madhur Bhandarkar wrote, 'On this auspicious day of Lohri, Wishing everyone peace prosperity, & happiness. #HappyLohri #HappyLohri2020' Tamannaah Bhatia also extended wishes and wrote, ' A very #HappyLohri to one and all. May this auspicious occasion bring in lots of prosperity and happiness.' Actress Mallika Sherawat also wrote, 'Wishing you all a very #HappyLohri.' For the unversed, the occasion marks the end of winter solstice and welcomes the new harvest. Lohri, primarily celebrated in the Punjab region by Sikhs and Hindus has people dance merrily around a big bonfire and spring popcorns, eat 'gajak' and soothe their souls around family. Each year, the festival is celebrated a night before Makar Sankranti and this year, Lohri is being observed on January 13 in accordance with the solar part of the lunisolar Bikrami calendar.
