The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Eutelsat announced a EUR 200 million financing agreement that will support the satellite operator's Konnect VHTS programme. The eight-year loan will be used for the procurement and forthcoming launch of Eutelsat's next-generation satellite dedicated to high-speed broadband access, particularly across under-served communities, as well as in-flight connectivity in Europe and neighbouring areas. Built by Thales Alenia Space, Konnect VHTS should launch later this year and is scheduled to enter into service in 2022.
