AMBALA: An inmate has allegedly committed suicide by hanging inside a bathroom of Ambala central jail on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Vijaypal (34), a resident of Uttar Pradesh, who was serving life term in a case of murder, told the police.
As per the information, Vijaypal was found hanging inside the bathroom at about 5.30am in the morning.
A magisterial probe has been initiated into this case, which is being done by judicial magistrate first class (JMIC) Anita Rani.
Investigation officer (IO) Om Prakash said, “We are doing the protection duty of the deceased’s dead body and a probe is being conducted by a judicial magistrate officer who can only reveal further details.”
